Product Information

End-fed HF antenna matchbox that is quick and easy to setup and use.
 
The end-fed feature adds convenience, and makes it very portable. Small enough to fit in your glove box or your bug-out bag.
 
 
The UV resistant ABS plastic housing encloses an efficient matching network allowing the antenna to be fed with common 50 ohm coaxial cable on the SO-239 connection. 
 
The PEF 160-10 contains a FT-240/61 trifilar wound, 9:1 UNUN wound with silver tinned PTFE insulated wire.(unbalance to unbalance) torrid matching transformer that will match the high input impedance of an end fed antenna into the range where most antenna tuners can produce good performance. 
 
The matchbox handles 500 to 1000 watts of power PEP into a matched load. 30% duty cycle.
 
A 123 foot insulated Poly-Stealth 18 gauge stranded wire antenna and #10 solder lug is included. 
 
Poly-StealthTM high-strength antenna wire is made with high-strength, high-conductivity, bare copper-clad steel (BCCS) wire and insulated with a high-quality, UV-resistant polyethylene jacket to provide you with one of the strongest and longest lasting antenna wires on the market today.
 
Poly-StealthTM wire is perfect for situations that require antennas be hidden from view. The insulation has a low-Gloss finish, and their small size makes wire disappear into the background. That doesn't mean, however, that the wire isn't rugged. The insulation has superior abrasion resistance for running through trees and is UV and weather resistant for use on the seacoast or in other harsh environments.They'll stand up to acid rain, high wind loads, and high snow and ice loads.
 
Experience has shown that most external tuners and many internal tuners will tune 80–6 meters with an antenna length of 22’ to 39. If a longer antenna is desired, the provided antenna can be lengthened.

Do not place a balun in the coax line. Doing so will interfere with antenna performance. 
 
The end fed antenna works well in horizontal, sloper, and vertical configurations. No ground plane or counterpoise is needed. (Grounding recommended for ESD protection)
 
Portable operation could not be easier. Simply hang the far end from a tree limb–the coax is at the bottom. Hang it up in a hotel balcony or string it up in the attic. End insulators are supplied making suspension easy.
 
***Remember this enclosure that the PEF is housed in, IS NOT water proof. So if you leave it outside and it rains it will fill with water. You can drill a small 1/8 inch hole if needed. but remember it has a core wrapped with wire inside, and you have to limit the depth you drill into the enclosure or you will damage the core.***
 
Makes a great SWL antenna also.

Portable endfed

Needed a quick set up antenna for the soon-to-be retirement QTH. Quick to put up, and loaded easily on all listed bands using just the internal antenna tuner on my rig. For portable or POTA ops this is perfect! I’ve owned a lot of antennas over the last 45+ years, but NI4L antennas are the best bang for the buck!

portable 160/10 metre end fed dipole

Delighted with the results. Works on all bands that I am interested in particularly 160 metres. Other antennas have failed on this band. Great antenna to buy.

NI4L EFHW

Just purchased to use for NVIS with local emcomm groups. Used electric fence standoffs to run in an L along property fence line. Works a treat for both receiving and transmit on 80m. I need to make some adjustments for 40. That is of course partially proximity to ground as it is only 5-6 feet off the ground. But it also makes a great receive antenna over my OCF that is 30' in the air. Just remember where your choke goes on an EFHW (radio side) and this antenna will work great.

Works like a charm and it is only 15 ft off the ground. Im happy period.

This is the 4th or 5th product that I have purchased 4 or 5 items from ni4l. Once again the antenna was shipped and received with in a few days. This antenna works quite well no issues.
